I will always be grateful to Derrick for his mentoring whilst training to be a building surveyor at the City of Liverpool Architects Department. I worked with Derrick for seven years at the Architects Department and a few years later our paths crossed again at Wirral Methodist’s Housing Association. I have often spoken of Derrick over the years, and I will hold his memory dear to me.
