I will never forget the words of kindness and encouragement you shared without obligation, but which momentarily lifted the drudgery of being a medical registrar (a drudgery which you also promised would end some day).
I will never forget the many anecdotes you shared of your family and life in Endoscopy, and the way you made everyone in the room feel involved.
Your passion for education which was clear to all, and I never failed to learn something new when you were around.
I will never forget how you spoke about your colleagues with a high degree of respect and appreciation always, and uniquely, how you often complimented detailed referral letters from GPs.
I will never forget how you emphasised that it is our responsibility to advocate for and help patients make their own choices. It is no surprise that you are held in such high regard by so very many patients who were under your care.
Thank you for everything, Dr Pritchard. You were a wonderful and exceptional role model and are so deeply missed by all.
My thoughts, wishes and deepest condolences are with your family.
Emma Chaplin

I find it difficult to express in words just how much affection I held for my doctor, consultant and friend who I had caring for me since July 2010 when I was on the brink of dying.
Guy was a true gentleman who never treated you like a number. In 2019, I was an inpatient at Arrowe Park, and on 3 separate occasions he took the time to visit me for about half an hour each time, this after he had been working for many hours.
Since I learnt of his passing, I have felt sadness that I have only experienced when a member of my own family has died.
I want to send my condolences to his family as I know they will be devastated by thier loss.
I am also aware that staff at the hospital, along with many other patients will be deeply saddened by his death.
A great man.

Oh my what can I say the medical proffesion has lost a absolute legend . Dr Pritchard has been my consultant since 2014/2015 he has seen me through some very rough times in my health not only supporting myself as the patient but my family too both myself and my husband will be ever grateful . You know Dr Pritchard not only cared about his patients but also there children he would always ask how my little boy who is now 8 years old is which you don’t get from alot of doctors. I remember before I had my subtotal colectomy just over 2 years ago I had been through all the medications/biologics that I could of had for my Condition Ulcerative colitis and this one day I saw Dr Pritchard in the out patient clinic I told him I’d made a decision…… I would like the operation!! The relief on Dr Pritchards face he didn’t say so much but I think in he was saying thank the lord for that ! I was a stubborn patient… wanting to try sll medications first.
But seriously Dr Pritchard will be a huge ,huge loss to myself and my family it just doesn’t seem real .
Myself and my family’s thoughts are with his family and collegues who now and again would speak highly of them in a proffesional manner.
Thank you Dr Pritchard from the bottom of my heart there will never be a consultant like you.
Rest in peace
Jo Hirst
What sad news. I have attended Dr. Pritchard’s clinics with my daughter for several years.
I always found him to be the model professional. Encouraging patient choice whilst also being realistic in a supportive way.
Dr. Pritchard cared deeply for his patients for which we as a family are eternally grateful.
Sleep well Dr. Pritchard and sending deepest condolences to your family.
Sarah Roberts
