To Brian’s family and friends.
I must introduce myself; I am Bob Mitchell, the Quality Auditor of Huskisson Ltd. I recently visited the firm to perform my usual annual audit and was advised that Brian, the wonderful,”balanced” man with whom I’d had many an enjoyable conversation, had passed away with MDS. We developed a mutual respect for each other, which should perhaps be called a friendship and regaled each other with our views and experiences of all manner of topics. I was so utterly saddened to hear the cruel news of his fight. Had I known, I would surely have visited him in the latter days of his illness. You, his family, together with all of his friends,must feel so acutely the loss of such a kindly, pragmatic, perceptive and positive gentleman who had such a wicked sense of humour. I’m sure that the festive season will bring back happy memories of him as a husband, father, grandfather or friend. Brian made a point of following my Facebook postings of my cycling adventures in the high mountains of Europe, which encouraged me and inspired me to “go one better” on the next challenge. I missed the envisaged chat at this recent audit and I will remember Brian fondly as the client with whom I could chat most easily. I looked forward to the annual audits for this reason and for Brian’s dedication to improve the firm and had done so for the past 21 years. I will finish by saying that you must feel so blessed to have known him. I know that I did.
