Messages of Condolence for Tony

Clive Keeble

To my dear friend and colleague, Tony, aka the “Wing Commander” as he was affectionately known by many of his close work colleagues at Concert and BT.
Working in the G06 lab (often called the tearoom!) at Martlesham Heath, we had many laughs whilst working alongside each other, it was fun and it didn’t feel like work!
It was a golden period of my career working with so many characters, I didn’t know it then, but looking back I realise how important the “Wing Commander” was to us all, a true friend, a gentleman, a great work colleague and mentor, we will all miss him greatly.

Andrew & Susan Gowen

So many happy memories: one of which still makes us laugh. Andrew and Tony cooking sprats on a camping stove in the barn because their wives would not let them in the house! A lovely man.

Harry

Lost my dear lifelong friend. Memories of our family and sailing holidays together will live with me forever. RIP Tony.

Guy Snashall

Tony was the most genuine of people you could ever be fortunate enough to meet let alone calling him a friend (a Pal in his words).
Working and socialising with him was always a pleasure and a delight, his knowledge was second to none and he’d gladly share it.
We had annual visits to woodworking events which were true highlights to be treasured.
A true gent and a dear friend taken too early.
My condolences to you all.

Elizabeth Rouse

Such a lovely and vibrant man who I have not
seen for some time…but I will always remember our fun social gatherings in the 1980s and 90s.
RIP Tony

Tony was such a very special person in so many ways. I have many lovely, happy and funny memories of times spent altogether in Nayland, Wrabness and latterly in their new home in the Wirral. We are going to miss him so very much. May you rest in peace Tony.

Happy memories of Wrabness & the beach hut, walking in Derbyshire and Settle at Christmas.
Much friendly banter with Goff over Liverpool & Chelsea and trying to teach us to play bridge!
He will be greatly missed by all his family & friends.

It was always so good to see Tony and Jill – such great company. And the walking and sailing with Tony and John P will never be forgotten. As so many others have said – he was a truly lovely man.

Tony is the love of the life of my oldest friend Jill. I think of him as considerate, kind, quicksilver and shall remember him with great fondness and great sorrow at his untimely passing.

To Jill and family,
Sending you all our love and thoughts. We regret not being able to join you in your celebration of Tony’s life. His was a life well lived with love and humour and obvious devotion to “his” Jill and family. We will miss Tony as our friend.

Usha Taylor and family.

Very precious memories of 20 years of being neighbours and
friends in Nayland. Tony was always so kind and ready to help with everything and the sharpest quick wit. With all our love to dear Jill and family.

Tony, so good to meet you & Jill at several of John & Nicky’s gatherings. Especially enjoyed watching you quietly observe & gently contribute to animated conversations with frequent wry, sharp as a pin & always witty & well timed inputs. Feel honoured to have met you. Dear Tony RIP

Christine Andrade

My memories of Tony were that he was always such a kind, thoughtful and and caring man. Always a pleasure to see him in Nayland and more recently spending time with him and Jill in their new home in the Wirral. He will always be remembered and my thoughts are with all the family.

Molly

I will miss you very much Uncle Tony.
Thank you for being best brother to my dad and kindest uncle.

Helen & Keith

We are all truly saddened by the sudden passing of Tony and will miss him dearly.
Whilst we only saw him once or twice a year, he was always a pleasure to have in our company and as part of our family, and always showed a genuine interest in what was going on in all our lives.
We’ll all miss Tony in our own ways, but nothing can come close to the gap left in the lives of Jill, Nikki and Calvin who we send our love to at this time.

Ken Fearon

I first met Tony 3 years ago as a member of our small cycling group. A truly terrific person to know and blessed with a wonderful sense of humour.
I will miss our rides and pub nights but mostly the banter and conversation. My condolences to Jill and the family.

Lisa, Tony, Lotte, Austin and Jonny

I have great memories of all the times I spent with Tony, from when I was a child, then an adult, and a parent. I cherish all those times. I will miss Uncle Tony very much. I am thinking of you all.

Nicole

Tony, you were always so much fun. Tipsy in the back of the cab at Tanya and Calvin’s wedding. Playing Swallows and Amazons at Wrabness. The glimpses we had of you when we coincided in Scotland. Inspirational in your love for Jill and your children and grandchildren. We are all better for having known you.
