So sad to hear about Andy passing. First met him in the late 70s as the brother of close friend Tony.
Along the way, saw Andy from time to time especially in recent years with Mandy locally.
One thing about Andy was his positive and friendly demeanor and you felt like he was always interested in what you were doing and also always related to my relationship with his brother.
Condolences to all his family, and I will retain my unformed memories of him.

Andy…..Yuppy…..I don’t even know where to start! I’m not ashamed to say that even though it’s a while since we last spoke on the phone I’ve shed some tears after hearing you had passed away…shocked, gutted, and really sad is the best I can come up with how I felt when I found out.
I first met you as a mate of my cousin Steve, 40 years ago now and I’m glad that I was privileged to be able to call you a friend. There are so many happy, funny, laugh out loud til it hurts moments I’ve always remembered you by, they are the memories that I’ll now cherish even more. Lots of words spring to mind….first of all “Yuppy”. The job, company car, first of us to have a mobile phone got you labelled that. There were a few Andys and Steve’s in our day in our inner circle thats why we had nicknames instead. Yuppy, Besty, Raddy, Kngy (me), our Ste (collins)…then the none Andys/Steve’s like Knighty, Adam, Tommy, just a few of a long list that were lucky to know you, and were better people for having had the pleasure to do so.
Words that bring back so many good times (if you were there youll know exactly what these mean)….yates’s, ruperts, 50p night, the dewan, Malia 18-30s, vin de Prince, jack Daniels, budweiser with a straw in, peach schnapps,, pleasuredrome, fat wallets bar, Betty speaking speaking, AB’s, TC, the fireman’s Oxford, the fugees, the Swan on Sundays, driving home for Christmas, georgey wong, “not as hot as George is gonna be in a minute”, “never eat a chicken if it’s still got its beak on”, “he who laughs last laughs last laff last laff laffs laff last”, I could write war and peace volume 2!
Writing this has me remembering so many good times, you always made people laugh out loud, and you’re still making me laugh out loud now just remembering it all!
How would I describe you to someone who didn’t have the good fortune to have known you…. honest, genuine, caring, compassionate, sincere, funny, mad as a box of frogs, a gentleman, and most of all a true friend.
AB (my mum) loved you to bits, she described you as the lad any mum would want their daughter to bring home. She was a great judge of character! One thing is for sure, I’m a much better person for having been fortunate to have known you.
You may be gone, but in so many fantastic memories in my head, and in many others too, you’ll never ever be forgotten.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die”

Rest in peace Yuppy mate,
Kingy

Unbelievably sad to hear of Andy’s passing.. the stories are endless but all of fun and laughter. Genuine, kind, extremely funny and massively popular.
We called him “Albi” due to never turning down an invitation for a night out and a laugh.. “Albi there” was always his reply.
Holidays abroad, stag trips to Scotland. The memories are special and forever lasting.. one of a kind.
Simple Minds “don’t you forget about me” will be forever his song.
Condolences to his brother Tony and family..

Cant believe you have gone Andy. We were friends for over 40 years and you were best man at my wedding. Pity we didn’t have a video of your wedding speech. You had the entire reception in tears. So many memories, so many laughs. RIP Albie.
