Ali and I became friends at school. We stayed in contact on and off over the years. I saw her at Manchester airport quite a few times on my way elsewhere and nearly fell off my chair some years later (after a compound tibial fracture) when I saw her and Steve on A Place in the Sun. She later explained how they had volunteered and unexpectedly won a free French holiday. That was Alison. A chatterbox. A good heart. A person to be remembered. ♥️
